Le Soleil
My granddaughter has moved to Nantes
Lives near the wooden éléphant
We bought a Breton gateau, golden
“You’ve gone and caught the sun” I told her
She answered “Non non non, you twit”
And ate a big fat chunk of it
In the twee Café Royal
She ordered a crème caramel
“You’ve caught the sun again” I said
She answered “Pas du tout”, instead
She scoffed the lot in half a tick
And even gave the plate a lick
Back in England, travels done
My friends say “Ah! You’ve caught the sun”
